An Ottawa man is in jail after leading sheriff deputies on a chase. Yesterday afternoon, October 30th, shortly after 2:00, an Osage County sheriff deputy attempted a traffic stop in Lyndon. The vehicle failed to stop and sped away. The vehicle was finally stopped near mile marker 14 on K-68 highway after Osage and Franklin County deputies successfully deployed tire deflation devices.
Fifty-seven year old Tony Bass, of Ottawa was taken into custody and transported to the Osage County Jail on charges of fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, driving under the influence, battery on a law enforcement officer, distribution of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a vehicle with an ignition interlock device, and possession of a firearm while under the influence. Charges will be forwarded to the Osage County Attorney’s office.
