Election Day 2024… come-and-gone and the results are in for most races in Miami County and around the nation. The county question revolving around the renewal of a quarter cent sales tax that would go for county road improvements was approved, with 10,609 “yes” votes to 7,354 “no” votes.

The county has a new clerk. Laura Epp overwhelmingly took the race with 13,710 votes to Eric Lund’s 3,546.

In the Kansas 3rd District United State House of Representatives race, Miami County voters sided with Republican Prashanth Reddy. He took 60% of the vote over Sharice Davids, who finished with 34%. However, district wide, Davids won the election. In the Kansas Senate 12th District Seat, Caryn Tyson with a decided victory over Cullen Lange.

In the Kansas Senate 23rd District, it was Adam over Stacey Knoelle. In the Senate 37th District, Douglas Shane with a big victory over Sherry Giebler. In the Kansas House of Representatives 5th District. It was Republican Carry Barth winning the seat, over Henry Johns.

In the Kansas House of Representatives 6th District, Samantha Poetter Parshall took the seat with 8.571 votes to Elena Super’s 3,560 votes.
