A youth trick rider from Louisburg finished up her first year on the pro rodeo circuit recently. Liberty Cunningham, an 8th grader, applied for and was granted her pro-rodeo card last fall, making her one of the youngest professional trick riders and roman riders in the PRCA. Cunningham has been in 15 events with the PRCA this season with 49 performances. Twenty-four of her performances have been aired on the cowboy channel. She has done 29 media interviews. At one of the biggest and oldest rodeos in the nation, the Buffalo Bill Rodeo in North Platte, she told Rural Radio Network TV about her act and how she got into the sport:
She has performed in front of crowds of over 10,250 per night. Cunningham has worked with award-winning, hall-of-fame stock contractors, rodeo personnel and committees.
She has led standing-room only demonstrational clinics at some of the largest equestrian expos in the country. She is ending her 2024 season with what will be the highlight of her year: The PRCA Executive Council selected her to perform at the National Finals Breakaway Roping in Las Vegas in December.
