Today, November 30th, is Small Business Saturday, a day created to bring awareness to local small businesses who rely on local traffic to keep them going throughout the year. Julie Riggins of the Goat Milk Soap Store and the Collective Heart in beautiful Downtown Ottawa says shopping local builds strong bonds:
For every dollar you spend in local shops, over 64% remains in the community, if you shop a big box store or national chain, less than 34 cents stays here, shop online, not one penny stays local. Many Ottawa businesses offer unique and one of a kind items you just can’t find anywhere else. Shop local!
