Winter is almost here and with very cold temperatures forecast over the next several night, many people are going to turn to space heaters to stay warm in their homes. With that somes the need for space heater safety. Ottawa City Manager, Brian Silcott, says space heaters can be especially dangerous:
Nationwide, hundreds of fires every winter are accidentally started by people trying to keep warm with space heaters, particularly if they are not plugged in right. People are encouraged to buy a space heater that turns off automatically if it is accidentally knocked over.
