Being safe and aware of where you are is crucial in case of an emergency, and three little words could save your life in the event of an emergency in an area you are not familiar with. Franklin County Emergency Management Director Thomas Winter explains that What 3 Words is an app that you can download;
It’s simple to use. First download the app. Once you open it, the GPS will locate you on a map. Tap the arrow and the three words for your location will display at the top of the screen. Read the three words to dispatch and they will track you to within 10 feet of your location. I have it on my phone and my grandson knows how to use it…just in case. Give it a shot, it’s pretty amazing.
