Law enforcement have released the names of two people who died after a 20-hour standoff at a residence south of Eudora as 52-year-old Benjamin Eaton Jr. And 44-year-old Nicole Felice Eaton, both of rural Eudora. An investigation revealed that Benjamin shot and killed Nicole in a home in the 900 block of E. 2300 Road after a standoff with law enforcement that started around 8:50 Thursday night, December 5th and ended around 4:30 Friday afternoon. Benjamin was found deceased inside the home from an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound.
A Eudora police officer responding to a call of a woman in distress, heard a gunshot upon arrival. The man inside threatened to shoot officers and barricaded himself in. Authorities were able to gain access using drones and other technology and determined the woman was deceased. After losing contact with the man, the Kansas Highway patrol made entry into the house and found the man deceased.
