The 16-year-old Spring Hill boy, in custody in connection with the death of a 15-year-old boy in rural Miami County last week, has been charged with murder. The Miami County Sheriff’s Office says the boy was charged with interference with law enforcement, concealing, altering, or destroying evidence in a felony case and first-degree murder. While no details on how the death happened, officers and EMS were called to the home initially on December 4th, for a death. Upon arrival, they found a 15-year-old boy deceased from a gun shot wound. The 16-year-old was transported to the hospital as a precaution. As the investigation unfolded, the death was deemed suspicious and additional resources were called in, which led to the 16-year-old at the hospital being take into custody.
The decease teen is from Olathe, the accused teen is from Spring Hill. Both were students in the Spring Hill School District. The Miami County Sheriff’s office is still investigating the incident and is asking anyone with any information about the two people involved, or the event itself, to call and let them know.
