There was a major drug bust in Osawatomie. Yesterday afternoon, January 2, officers executed a search warrant at 801 9th Street in Osawatomie, as a portion of a months long investigation regarding several people involved in drug activity. During a traffic stop prior to the search warrant, Osawatomie’s K9 officer gave a positive alert for narcotics in the vehicle. After the search, 43-year-old Dallas Wilson, one of three people in the vehicle was taken into custody. After a brief interview, officers were granted a search warrant for the residence. Wilson was arrested and charged with distribution of methamphetamine, distribution within 1000 feet of a school, marijuana possession, possession of paraphernalia and no drug tax stamp.
Police chief David Stuteville says this is an ongoing investigation and other arrests are expected to follow. They will forward other cases involving Wilson to the Miami County Attorney’s office for review, with multiple charges of possession, sale and distribution of meth. Stuteville commends the public for being vigilant and reporting drug activity.
