
The City of Ottawa has announced the appointment of D.J. Welsh as the Interim Director of Public Works. Welsh has been serving as Public Works Operations Manager since July 2024, during which his leadership, dedication, and commitment to excellence have been instrumental in navigating a significant period of operational transition for the department. DJ previously served as Parks Superintendent since 2015.
In his new role as Interim Director, Welsh will oversee all aspects of the Public Works Department, which provides essential services including street and stormwater management, parks and cemetery operations, and municipal infrastructure projects. His appointment ensures continuity and stability in these critical operations while maintaining the high standards Ottawa residents expect and deserve.
