The City of Ottawa has announced the promotion of Scott Snethen to the position of Director of Utilities. Snethen has been a key member of the City of Ottawa’s leadership team since his appointment as Superintendent of Utilities for Water Production in December of 2017. Snethen was promoted to the position of Assistant Utilities Director – Water Division in February of last year. City officials say his exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to service excellence have been instrumental in enhancing the operations and performance of the utilities department. City manager Brian Silcott says “Scott has demonstrated a remarkable ability to lead and innovate within our utilities department and his dedication and expertise have already made a lasting impact, and he is confident that his vision and leadership will continue to enhance the quality of service we provide to the community.”

As Director of Utilities, he will oversee all aspects of the utilities department, including water, wastewater, and electric operations. His responsibilities include providing strategic direction, fostering a culture of innovation and service excellence, and ensuring alignment with the city’s mission and strategic objectives.
