The Ottawa City Commission will not meet today, January 22nd. Instead, they will attend an annual event at the Kansas State Capital. It’s Local Government Day. Sponsored by the Kansas Association of Counties and the League of Kansas Municipalities. City Manager, Brian Silcott, says it gives local elected officials the opportunity to interact with our representatives at the state level, in mass.
Commissioners will gather as much information as possible and interact with as many lawmakers as possible today. They will also hear from Governor Kelly later in the day. Some commissioners will share what they learned at next week’s meeting.
