The City of Ottawa has hired a course superintendent for the golf course. Drew Murphy will take over the position. He’s an experienced golf course management professional with over 25 years in the industry, with an extensive background in turf management, equipment maintenance, and staff leadership. In 2004 he joined the maintenance team at Heritage Park Golf Course in Olathe and in 2015, was promoted to assistant course superintendent where he excelled in managing the daily operations of the course and implemented best practices to improve turf health, enhance course playability, and ensure the overall quality of the facility. Drew has also collaborated with golf legends Tom Watson and Jeff Burey on the creation of a 6-hole wee links course at Heritage Park Golf Course. His ability to oversee large-scale projects, from bunker renovations to stream bank stabilization, further underscores his ability to lead complex initiatives and maintain a high standard of course quality.

He says he is excited about the opportunity to bring his experience and passion for golf course management to the City of Ottawa golf course. His goal is to enhance the playability and aesthetic appeal of the course while maintaining operational efficiency and ensuring the best possible golfing experience for members and visitors. Welcome to Ottawa Drew!!!
