
Let’s say that you’re outside in your yard or somewhere else in town and suddenly your nose gets a whiff of something not…quite…right. What is that smell? You think, oh my, there must be a gas leak somewhere, so, you call 911 to report it. That happened yesterday, January 22nd, in the 11 block of Ash and the fire department responded, and found the source of the odor, but, it wasn’t gas. Ottawa Fire Department Fire Prevention Coordinator, Captain Mike Wilson, says most of the calls they get like this turn out to be something more “natural”:
Wilson does urge people to call if they have any question, because it’s better to be safe than sorry when it comes to gas leaks. Hopefully you won’t get introduced to a new friend.
