Kansas lawmakers are considering a new proposal this month that could send alcoholic deliveries straight to your front door. Representatives of Walmart, requested the introduction of Senate Bill 56. If approved in its current form, the bill would authorize the delivery of alcoholic liquor and cereal malt beverages to people’s homes in Kansas. One-year delivery service permits will be required to the tune of $1,500 each for groups wishing to make these deliveries.

People signing up for home deliveries of their choice alcoholic beverages will be limited to varieties that are no more than 6% alcohol by volume. Other rules specified include restrictions on who can deliver the alcohol, who can receive the alcohol and locations which can receive the deliveries. Both delivery drivers and people receiving deliveries of alcohol must be over the age of 21 to participate. Deliveries are also to be denied if the address matches that of a daycare, place of worship or school.
