No fun and games with racoons. A family of racoons found my storage container of bird food on my porch last night, somehow pried open the sealed container and had a feast. Imagine what farmers have to go through with raccoons. Kansas State University Wildlife Specialist, Drew Rickets, says coons create a lot of trouble, spreading disease to pets and people, tearing into barns or feed sheds or just eating the crops straight out of the field.

The problem is not just from the animals eating the feed, but also from the feces they leave behind. Contact your local extension office for tips with dealing with racoons and other wildlife issues.
