One of the most expensive projects in Franklin County each year is the chip seals project for county roads. Public Works Director Jeff Welton says they made a switch and it saved them significant money:
Welton says they will continue to use the limestone for chip seal and the county is looking into purchasing equipment to complete the chip seal project themselves and not have to rely on outside companies to do the work, which, he says would save even more money.
