
Governor Laura Kelly was joined by American Airlines CEO Robert Isom, Wichita Mayor Lily Wu and Representative Ron Estes yesterday morning, February 3rd, as they visited Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport.
They said as the close-knit community of Wichita continues to mourn the tragic accident, American Airlines and representatives from all levels of government came together to unequivocally stand with the families and friends of the passengers of flight 53-42. Caring for and supporting those impacted is their top priority. They visited with and expressed their gratitude to American team members based at Eisenhower National Airport and thanked those who came from other parts of the country to support the Wichita-based team and the passengers’ loved ones immediately following the accident. They say that together, they will be unrelenting in their work at the local, state and federal levels to ensure U. S. aviation safety remains the best in the world.
