The Kids Baking Championship on the Food Network last night, February 3rd, featuring Princeton’s own 12-year-old Piper Lowe. Last night had a fun Puppy Bowl, like the Super Bowl, but with puppies challenge. The bakers faced a head-to-head challenge. They had to create desserts decorated with paw prints in their favorite color. Piper made sugar cookie sandwiches with cream cheese frosting, mango curd, and dipped her cookies in white chocolate, along with a bark made of milk chocolate, toasted hazelnuts, toffee, and potato chips.
While she didn’t win the head-to-head competition, the judges praised her cookie texture and bark, with Duff Goldman saying toffee is his favorite with milk chocolate. The competition was fierce and close all the way. So, did piper make through?… yes! Piper is moving on to the next round. She will be one of only seven contestants advancing to episode 6. In the upcoming challenge, the bakers will be working with a fun theme, little blue smurfs! The show will air next Monday night, February 10th, at 7. Congratulations, Piper!!
