The Ottawa City Commission is going all in on taking care of the Ottawa Golf Course, and they are finding out it is expensive. At yesterday’s meeting, February 19th,they approved the purchase of several specialty equipment items. One of those items is a robotic mower for the fairways, three of them actually. Golf Course Superintendent Drew Murphy on why they need three:

Interestingly, three of the robot mowers cost over $50,000– less than one traditional tractor style mower. They also have a 10 mile range and could be used to mow in other parts of the city, such as parks. The commission approved the purchase of several pieces of equipment for just over $300,000.
