
Law enforcement agencies are investigating a deadly robbery and have two suspects in custody, one of them from Baldwin City. According to Topeka Police Lieutenant Edward Staley, just after midnight Saturday, February 22nd, Topeka police responded to report of a shooting in the 2900 block of SW Topeka Boulevard. First responders located a man, later identified as 31-year-old Earon Cooper of Lawrence, with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested two suspects. Twenty one-year-old Silas Kriner, of Baldwin City, Kansas, was transported to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of 1st degree murder and aggravated robbery. Nineteen-year-old Delano A. Washington, of Topeka, is being held on requested charges of 1st degree murder, aggravated robbery, interference with a law enforcement officer, criminal damage to property and a Shawnee County warrant.
