
Prairie Paws Animal Shelter has received a $400,000 grant to help with low cost spay and neuter in Kansas. Director Vanessa Cowie says Ottawa already has a low cost program and is serving the needs of Franklin County. The new program will focus on areas that are underserved:
She added that they will be using nearly $300,000 to purchase a large trailer that will be fitted with the equipment needed to perform the low cost spay an neuter program.
