A little known fact about the Franklin County Courthouse. The cornerstone holds a few secrets. Director of Operations, Brandon Sands, with a little background of what may have been put in it back on July 4th 1892 as they began construction:
With stone work renovations being done on the Courthouse soon, Commissioner’s may decide to open the cornerstone. However, it will cost an extra $9,000 to have it shored up so the copper container can be removed. We’ll keep you posted–
