Deputies located a vehicle matching a description leaving the area at a high rate of speed. The vehicle led them on a pursuit west on K-68 and into Osage County. In Lyndon, the Osage County Sheriff’s Deputies utilized a tire deflation device to disable the vehicle, however, the suspect fled on foot into a wooded area. After an extensive search using canine units and drone technology, 33-year-old Curtis Lucas was found hiding in a concealed location and was taken into custody on charges of attempted first degree murder, aggravated residential burglary, possession of a weapon by a felon, felony fleeing and eluding, felony theft and driving on a suspended license.

Additional charges may be field by the Ottawa Police Department as the vehicle Lucas was driving, was stolen from the 400 block of South Main in Ottawa the day prior to the crimes in the county. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. The case is still under investigation.
