Saint Patrick’s Day celebrations are taking place all over the word today. More than 1,000 St. Patrick’s Day parades are held across the United States; New York City and Boston are home to the largest celebrations as well as Lawrence, Kansas City and others in our area. But… did you know that parades started in America? Robert Clotworthy from the History Channel explains:

Other celebrations include Chicago dying the river green, as does Savannah, Georgia. Some of the fountains in Kansas City are dyed green, and of course the traditional corned beef and cabbage with Irish soda bread is served around the world and maybe topped off with a nice stout guinness beer.
