Ottawans will have an opportunity to interact with a documentary filmmaker who has dedicated his life to documenting life in Kansas. The Franklin County Action Network, or F-CAN will present the movie ”Hot Times in the Heartland” at the Plaza Theatre on Earth Day , April 22nd. It was produced by Dave Kendall, formerly of Sunflower Journeys on PBS. It explores the local impact of and response to climate change in the American Heartland, and it focuses primarily on the Kansas River Valley and Kansas City. After the movie, Kendall will talk about how and why he created the film, how it has been received and take questions from the audience. Tickets are free, but you need to reserve your ticket.
