At a recent City of Ottawa Commission meeting a complete overview of the water treatment plant was discussed. Commissioners are trying to decide to make upgrades at the current plant or figure out how to build a new facility. Utilities Director, Scott Snethen, gave the low down on the cost between the two plans:
The phased-approach would cost the city about $19 million. More discussion is coming; however, many commissioners agreed that building a new plant, over upgrading the one we have, is probably the way to go.
