The City of Ottawa read a proclamation at yesterday’s meeting, declaring April 20th through the 26th as National Volunteer Recognition Week. The proclamation stated that volunteers demonstrate the desire to help the community and vital to nation and deserve everyone’s thanks. Accepting the proclamation was a man who has served Ottawa for decades as a local volunteer, Ron Hughes, who serves as the coordinator for the volunteers in police service programs:
