There are always going to be people that disagree with how things are run. Whether that is in their own house, the school board, city commissions, the courts, state legislatures, the governor, federal legislature, and the president. Not everyone is going to be happy. If you are one of those unhappy with the way things are being run, or if you just want to be involved in city government, why not run for office and try to make change. County Clerk Janet Paddock says time is running out to file for office for the November election:
Three City Commission seats are open in Ottawa, as well as three seats on the USD 290 School Board. West Franklin USD 287, Central Heights USD 288, and Wellsville USD 289 and all have three spots up for election. Lane with three council members open, Pomona with two as well as mayor…Princeton and Rantoul with 5 spots on the council open, Richmond with 21, and Wellsville and Williamsburg with three.
