A Johnson County man pleads guilty to killing the man he was dating. The Johnson County District Attorney’s office announced Joseph Wacaster plead guilty to premeditated first-degree murder yesterday, April 21st. The plea is part of a plea deal, according to online court documents.

The charge stems from an investigation last year. Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in Edgerton on March 30th, 2024. When they arrived they found a man’s body inside the residence. The victim was later identified as 27-year-old Cade Blackburn. Prosecutors say Blackburn and Wacaster were in a relationship.
