The Ottawa City Commission went over a recommendation for a RHID, or Rural Housing Incentive District for a housing project on Wilson Street called Northeast Village. The developer would be putting in a 40 unit apartment style complex. Finance Director, Melanie Landis, gave the reason why commissioners should consider approving the RHID:
The commission approved the RHID for the project. The developer would see a reimbursement of about $1.7 million of a 15 year period. Landis says after establishing the RHID, and the state agrees with the plan, a public hearing on the project would be scheduled, most likely in July
