More street improvements coming to the city of Osawatomie. A mill and overlay project is kicking off soon with contractor crews removing 2 inches of old asphalt and replacing it with fresh pavement to improve road conditions and extend surface life. City officials say the work area includes Chestnut Avenue from 8th to 12th, 7th Street from Main to Pacific, Main street from 1st to the interchange, and the library parking lot.
Patching will also take place in the 5000 to 6000 blocks of Main Street. These repairs are being made ahead of a future water main replacement. A full resurfacing will follow that utility work, in a future phase.
Rain delays are possible over the next several weeks. Please drive with caution in the construction zones and city officials thank you for you patience as they get the streets in the best shape possible.
