
Need some motivation to eat right and stay in shape? How about a man named Mike Fremont. Fremont ran the 50 west mile as part of the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati on Sunday, May 4th. So what…?, you say. Well, Mike is 103 years old and has been running for over 80 years. When asked why he continues to run races, he responded:
Mike has finished 16 full marathons and numerous other half marathons. He holds the world record in the 80 and 90 year old age group for full marathons and set the world record in the over 90 age group for half marathons. He’s the oldest person to compete in the 50 West Mile, finishing in just under 20 minutes. He says eating lots of fruit and vegetables and exercise is the secret to a long life.
