Two incidents over the weekend to tell you about. First, a car fire. Fire crews responded to the 3500 block of I-35 on a report of a car, driven by 64-year-old Dennis Carleson, caught on fire while driving. Damage was estimated at over $1,000
Also, an eerie coincidence for a Pomona man. Thirty five-year-old Tyler Wormell of Pomona was traveling south on I-35 when he left the road, struck an embankment in the median, causing the vehicle to roll several times. He was treated at the scene for minor injuries. His passenger, 46-year-old Melissa Perry, of Ottawa was transported to AdventHealth Ottawa by EMS for further treatment of injuries she sustained in the crash. It’s been an unlucky couple of weeks for Wormell. In late April, he was involved in a similar accident just west of the 7th Street and K-68 intersection, where he exited the road, went down an embankment, through a tree line and into a field.
