The Ottawa City Commission meet this morning, with several items on the agenda. One of those will be a discussion about purchasing an advertising package from Fox 4. The City of Ottawa has been selected as one of two cities in Kansas to be part of the Fox 4 Zip Trips. Crews will be in town from Fox 4 to showcase various parts of town to entice people to come visit.
Main Street Director Sarah Staffer was a busy woman this morning as she is presenting the same information to the county commission beforehand. Other items on the agenda include a resolution providing for the installation of an illuminated sign in Downtown Ottawa related to the State Historical Preservation Office’s ruling. Also a proclamation recognizing May as Community Action Month. ECKAN’s Teresia Templeton will accept the proclamation.
The commission will also recognize Rocky Evans as he is presented with the Kansas Municipal Utilities Power Plant Operator Award of Excellence.
The meeting will be held at 10:00 this morning at City Hall. It will also be aired live on KOFO and live streamed on the City of Ottawa facebook page and youtube channel.
