The Ottawa City Commission approved a sign for Advanced Investment who would like to put the sign on their business at 120 West Second. Jerad Sterling originally asked the Kansas State Historic Board for permission for the sign, and was denied due to it not complying to the historic aspects of the building. However, commissioner agreed that the damage done to the building would be extremely minimal. Commissioner Zach Clayton spoke of caring for the future:
The initial argument involved taking out a window. However, Sterling will only be covering a window and preserving it for future use.
