The Franklin County Commission will be meeting today and tomorrow, June 9th and 10th, to discuss the 2026 budget. They will be going over individual county department budgets for the upcoming year. Today’s budget meeting is long. They will start at 9:00 this morning and run pretty much all morning and into the afternoon. Today’s schedule includes the District Court, Sheriff and the jail, Motor Vehicle Department, Register of Deeds and Emergency Management. After a short break, the Health Department, Emergency Communications, and Appraisers office.
After lunch, things will restart at 1:00 with Planning and Building Department, Environmental Health, Centropolis Sewer, followed by Emergency Medical Services and wrapping up with building and grounds and records storage.
Tomorrow’s budget meetings are scheduled to start at 9:30 and will run through the morning. The meetings will be held in the Commission Chambers at the Annex and are open to the public.
