A tragic UTV accident has claimed the life of a Kincaid teen. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Saturday night, just before midnight, 16-year-old Wyatt Whitham, of Kincaid, was driving the UTV with two other teens near Northwest Marshall Road at Northwest 17-50 Road, about two miles from Garnett. They were heading south on Marshal and in an attempt to turn east on 17-50 Road, hit an embankment and overturned. Whitham died in the accident. Fifteen-year-old Colton Dilley, of Garnett, received minor injuries and 14-year-old Joseph Fagg, of Garnett had no apparent injuries.
UTV stands for utility task vehicle. It’s a type of off-road vehicle, often referred to as a “side-by-side,” designed for both work and recreation. UTV’s are known for their ability to haul cargo and transport multiple passengers. They are often used in industries like agriculture, ranching, and construction, as well as for recreational activities like off-roading and hunting.
No other details of the crash were released by the highway patrol
