The Miami County Appraiser Office has begun their annual inspection in Osawatomie. By state and county statute, every parcel of real property shall be actually viewed and inspected by the county appraiser once every 6 years. This year the inspection area includes the City of Osawatomie. County and city staff will be out in neighborhoods gathering updated property data. The inspection process is the best time for their office to gather the most up-to-date information about your property. During the inspection process, Miami County staff will be knocking on doors and asking questions about all the properties to verify the current property data. They will also be taking measurements and pictures of the property.
Staff will be onsite between 8:30 in the morning and 4:00 in the afternoon. They will all be wearing a Miami County Appraiser’s Office shirt and identification badge and will be in marked Miami County vehicles. If no one is home when they stop by, they will leave a notification note that they were on the property. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Miami County Appraiser Office.
