Ottawa USD 290 is exploring a new English and Language Arts curriculum in the middle school and high school and one area of concern is inclusivity and accessibility and culturally responsive content. Curriculum Director Amy Bybee explains:
The new ELA curriculum will be part of a pilot program in certain classes throughout the district next school year and will be assessed halfway through the year to see if teachers believe it is worthwhile.
