The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is in need of three new vehicles. Sheriff Jeff Richards says there are issues with two of the vehicles. He talked to commissioners about getting three new vehicles:
Richards says a 2018 Explorer has mechanical issues and a 2019 model has over 147,000 mile son it. He adds that they have to replace the radios to be compliant with the FBI standards for encryption. The total cost of the Durango’s and the new radios comes to about $220,000.
