The Franklin County Public Works Department was the recipient of five brand spankin’ new dump trucks a couple weeks ago. So, what do you do with the old trucks? They had six older trucks to sell. Last week, Public Works Director, Jeff Welton, says they have listed on the auction site ‘Gavel Roads’. County Administrator, Derek Brown, asked Welton when the auction ended. Welton had this response:
…and boy, did they. The six trucks sold for a total of $83,250. The highest one, a 2016 Peterbilt dump truck and plow that went for just over $25,000. Brown says they will explore where the additional funds should be applied in the upcoming budget. The County Commission meets this morning, June 25th at 8:30.
