The Franklin County Fair gets started this week. It’s the longest consecutive running fair in the state of Kansas, celebrating it’s 160th year in 2025. The fair events actually started on June 28th with the horse show and races. Then on July 7th, the 4-H Fashion Review was held, along with the 4-H clothing judging and fiber arts judging, and that night, the Clover Review and the Miss 4-H announcement. This year, a special year, there are two young ladies named as Miss 4-Hh. They are…

…Tanis Normile and Mara Dreiling. Congratulations to both of these young ladies.
Today, July 14th, photography and visual arts will be entered and judged. Things really get cranking on Wednesday as all the livestock entries are due, along with poultry, rabbits, bucket calves and more. All the shows get started on Wednesday, dairy cattle and goats, along with sheep and meat goats.

The fair will run through Saturday, July 19th. Bring the family out to the Franklin County Fairgrounds this week to experience the sites, sounds and smells of the Franklin County Fair.
