The Ottawa Police Department National Night Out is tomorrow night, August 5th.. Area first responders will be out in the neighborhoods that registered to have a block party. The block parties will be attended by police officers, fire fighters, EMS crews and city leaders to give the public a chance to interact with them in a positive atmosphere.
Police Chief Adam Weingartner says it’s a community building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie and learn a little about crime prevention and safe neighborhoods. Chief Weingartner says the event is held every year on the first Tuesday in August, which just happens to be tomorrow. KOFO will have a list of those locations posted on our facebook page and listed in our newscast tomorrow.
