Did you see the blimp flying over Ottawa yesterday, August 4th? The Goodyear blimp was spotted by several residents as they were on the highways and byways. The blimp is in Topeka the next couple days and giving rides to the workers at the Topeka Goodyear plant. It will be tethered at the Topeka Regional Airport between rides. 2025 marks a historic milestone for the legendary Goodyear Blimp which celebrates its 100th anniversary.
Since 1945, Goodyear-Topeka has stood as one of the area’s largest employers. The blimp’s visit celebrates the dedication of the Goodyear-Topeka team and the high-quality tires they manufacture in Topeka every day. While public and media rides are not available, local media and community members are encouraged to join the festivities by watching the blimp from the ground, snapping photos, and sharing the excitement as it floats overhead. The blimp will depart on Wednesday.
