An Osawatomie man died in an accident just after 8:30 yesterday morning, August 4th, in Johnson County. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports that a 2004 Sterling dump truck, driven by 68-year-old Leslie Kendig, of Osawatomie, was northbound on Kansas 7 just south of College Boulevard when his dump truck drifted into the other lane and struck a trailer pulled by a Ford F350, driven by 52-year-old Patrick Clement of Lane. The dump truck driver overcorrected to the right, entered the ditch and rolled.
Kendig was pronounced deceased at the scene, Clement was not injured according to the KHP, both drivers were properly restrained.
