Today marked USD 290 Ottawa schools first full day of school, for all students. As area schools head back to class the next couple weeks, there are certain times of the day that will be frustrating for parents. Ottawa Police Chief Adam Weingartner reminds parents and other drivers that pickup and drop off at many schools could be a bit complicated at first, particularly the middle school, and Sunflower Elementary. However, building principals have sent out drop-off and pickup information to parents to try to avoid confusion. The key is to be patient:
School begins Thursday in Central Heights, Wellsville, Baldwin City, Anderson County and Lyndon… West Franklin gets an extra week, they start next Wednesday, as does Osawatomie, Paola, and Louisburg. Friday the 15th for Osage City, and Santa Fe Trail doesn’t start until the 21st.
