Talk about pampered pets! An Osawatomie animal sanctuary is making space inside one of its shelters with tiny homes on the outside, for adoptable pets. Always and Furever, an animal sanctuary based in Kansas and Missouri, has announced that it has broken ground on a tiny homes development at the Osawatomie shelter. Pets available for adoption or those on hold for court cases, will be housed in these structures.
Founder Jen Dulski noted that the tiny homes provide a space for animals to decompress and thrive outside a typical shelter setting.
Future plans also include tiny homes for cats, expectant dog and cat mom and those who recently gave birth to a litter. Dulski says the tiny homes are not kennels; they are quiet, climate-controlled sanctuaries, designed for peace, consistency and decompression. Each space offers soft music, a warm bed, a secure yard and a calm environment where healing can begin.
Since Always & Furever took ownership of the Osawatomie shelter, no animal has been put down for space.
