Kansas Wildlife Authorities made several big changes this month to regulations for hunting coyotes with night vision equipment, the special trout season, along with hunting and fishing licenses for older adults. Kansas hunters can now use night vision equipment to hunt for coyotes over a longer period of time annually. The new season runs from September 1st to March 13th, excluding firearm deer seasons. Also, wildlife commissioners have approved of an increase to the cost of purchasing permits for the special Kansas trout fishing season. Anglers will now have to pay $17.50 to purchase a permit instead of the previous rate of $12.
Kansas residents who are between the ages of 64 and 74 will soon be able to start buying three new multi-year license options. People can continue to purchase one-year licenses that remain available to older adults at half the standard adult rate. There are other changes to hunting and fishing regulations. Those can be found in the Kansas Department of Wildlife’s website.
