The language of the ballot question regarding the renewal of an expiring sales tax in Ottawa has been finalized. At yesterday’s City Commission meeting, August 27th, City Attorney Blaine Finch told commissioners that there were five points that voters needed to understand:
If passed, the sales tax would continue a tax put in place over a decade ago to help finance infrastructure at Proximity Park. The tax raises just over 4 million dollars a year that would be put directly toward the items stated. The question will be on the ballot for the November election.
